The Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development (MoGLSD) with support from development partners established the Uganda Child Helpline (UCHL) - 116 toll free line (Sauti) as a mechanism to increase reporting of cases of child abuse. District Action Centers (DACs) are based at the district level and serve as a point of coordinated and integrated response to cases of child abuse that are redirected from the National call centre.

WEI/Bantwana through USAID/BETTER OUTCOMES Project for Children and Youth has supported establishment and set up of the Mayuge District Action Centre. The aim of the DAC is to strengthen response to reported cases of Violence Against Children (VAC)  and enhance case management for provision of quality services to abused children. The MoGLSD/UCHL together with Bantwana and MUCOBADI staff oriented the SPSWO, Probation Officer, District Action Center Officer and Parish chief on the functionality and operation of the Action Center.  The Principal Assistant Secretary  (PAS) on behalf of the CAO officiated the launch of the DAC.
