RDC flags off construction and renovation works at various primary schools to boost education infrastructure
On Tuesday 23rd December 2025, District officials led by Assistant Resident District Commissioners (ARDCs) Mr. Abadi Saidi and Mr. Babi Hatim successfully launched several education department projects. These initiatives, which include the construction and renovation of classroom blocks and the installation of lined pit latrines, are designed to enhance service delivery across local primary schools.
During the exercise, Mr. Abadi Saidi expressed concern that several projects were nearing completion before the official launch had even taken place. He advised against this practice in the future and issued a stern warning to contractors to avoid substandard work.
In response, the District Vice Chairperson Hon. Tasiibula Peter Nkwanga explained that the delay in launching was due to the RDC’s office prioritizing preparations for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s visit to Mayuge. He noted that contractors began work early to meet their contractual deadlines despite the launch delay and comprehensive monitoring and official commissioning of these projects are scheduled for January 2026.
