Ground Breaking of Wairasa Seed School
The 3rd Deputy Prime Minister Rt. Hon Rukia Nakadama has today 18/ Nov/ 2022 Commissioned the ground breaking for the construction of Wairasa Seed School in Buyemba Parish-Wairasa sub county, which will be undertaken by CHRISTONE CONTRACTORS LTD , at a total cost of Ugx 3,073,389,296.
In her Address , the Rt. Hon. Minister Commended Mzee Lukungu and Busoga Diocese for Donating the Land on which the School is going to be constructed. She however Cautioned the Contractors against Shoddy and sub standard work, Emphasizing Routine Monitoring by both Political and Technical officers as well as the Community to ensure the Quality of work reflects Value for the Money.She also cautioned Stakeholders on issues of mismanaging facilities and ensure the Facility is in proper Use.Finally she requested the School Board of Governors of the secondary school to add more women on the Board because one female among the Ten males is a poor representation.
According to the District Engineer, Wanjusi Febiano, the Project will undertake 2 Classroom Block (3 Blocks) ,2Unit Science Block, 2 Unit Teachers staff House(3 Blocks), 2 Unit Staff Kitchen ( 3 Blocks), Administration Block, School Furniture, ICT Library Block Multi-Purpose Hall Block,Sports Field, 2Stance Lined VIP Block(3) For Teacher, 5Stance Lined Latrine( Boys), 5 Stance Line LatrineLatrines (Girls), 2Stance Latrine for Teachers (Administration)Water Tank (5000Ltrs), External Works( Landscaping,Walkways ,Planting Trees , football pitch among others .He added the construction works that are to begin with immediate effect, will last a period of 18 months.
Aggrey Bagyire,the Area Member of Parliament for Bunya West Constituency, commended the Rt. Hon Minister for lobbying funds from the ministry of finance to ensure that the school is built. He added that Much as the Government has answered the long awaited prayer of a secondary school in the area, more primary schools are needed in this sub county because of its Population. He urged the community to embrace the development brought the this Government and also cautioned them against Vandalism and theft during the Project implementation.
The District Education Officer Allen Jalia Nabirye expressed her heartfelt appreciation to all the Stakeholders for trusting to invest in Education .She said that this is the time students need to utilize facilities through Excelling in academics and observing discipline both at school and home. She noted that with the construction of this school brings services closer to the people and reduce walking long distances of the Students .
Other Dignitaries present at this Ceremony included; Member of Parliament for Bunya South - Haji Iddi Isabirye, RDC, DISO, District Vice Chairperson and Executive , District councilors, Heads of Departments, Sub county Leadership , and the Community.
